He inherited his ancestral knowledge from his father and his revered Guru, Krushnatri. Professionally, he is a distinguished astrologer, Vedic scholar, and prolific writer, having authored many books on these subjects. His field of work has spanned Umreth, Surat, and Vadodara. In 1954, he completed P.G.D.H.A.
He has made invaluable contributions in his field. In 1950, at the age of 18, when Swamishree Rammaun Prabhu arrived in Umreth, he taught his two daughters—Manorama and Shashi—Sanskrit and Astrology in the Hindi language. In 1992, he delivered lectures on astrology at Ambikaniketan School in Surat. Since 1993, he has also been associated with the institute’s annual Panchang publication in Gujarati and Hindi.
The Gujarat Sanskrit Literature Academy annually honors distinguished Vedic scholars. On 12th July 2010, at Gandhinagar Town Hall, the then Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi honored Shri Anandprasad Purushottamdas Joshi (Yajurveda) with a shawl, a copper plaque, and a cash prize of ₹50,000 for the year 2008–09.
Even after retirement, he continues to contribute from his residence in Vadodara by writing high-quality articles on astrology and Vedic rituals in various journals and books.
